These photographs were made in Lindenhurst, N.Y. and the Roxbury neighborhood in Queens after Hurricane Sandy in 2012. They document the physical damage left behind as well as the aftermath as residents cleaned up and faced gas and food shortages and rebuilding challenges. A year later, I followed up with residents I photographed in Roxbury, in a video that originally published in the Queens Tribune. (Photos and video by Wasim Ahmad)
